The book Emergencies was written Peggy Schmidt in 1993. It was written for an audience looking for information on firefighting and police work. It is well written and has a lot of sections with actual firefighter answers to some very tough questions like "why did you decide to become a Firefighter?" and "How do you feel about people thinking you play cards and eat doughnuts all day?".
